British Airways will add 10 new destinations from London between April 2026 and May 2027, Simple Flying reports based on the airline's schedule submission to OAG compared to 2025.

New markets for the carrier

Seven of the 10 are new for British Airways, including St. Louis, Tivat, Rovaniemi, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar. St. Louis will get four weekly 787-8 flights from Heathrow starting April 19, 2026, with a ramp to daily in 2027. Tivat in Montenegro will see three weekly A320ceo flights from Heathrow starting May 14, 2026. Rovaniemi in Finland, known as Santa Claus's hometown, gets two weekly A320ceo flights from Gatwick beginning December 4, 2026.

On May 29, 2027, British Airways will launch three weekly 777-200ER flights from Gatwick to Kilimanjaro, continuing to Zanzibar. These are both new markets for the airline.

Returns after long absences

Melbourne returns after a 21-year gap. From Jan. 9, 2027, British Airways will fly daily 787-9s from Heathrow to Melbourne via Kuala Lumpur. The airline last served Melbourne in 2006.

Toulon in southern France gets two weekly E190 flights from London City Airport starting May 23, 2026. It was last served from Gatwick in 2004 by GB Airways. Colombo in Sri Lanka returns Oct. 23, 2026, with three weekly 777-200ERs from Gatwick. It was previously served via the Maldives between 2013 and 2015.

Limited-time and misc

Cologne gets five weekly A320neo flights from Heathrow starting Nov. 23, 2026, for the Christmas market season. The route last had regular service in March 2026. Guernsey resumes April 19, 2026, from Heathrow with daily A319 or A320neo flights. The island last had British Airways flights from Gatwick in 2003 and from Heathrow decades before.

Notably, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar serve leisure demand. Behramjee Ghadially, a senior network planner and African specialist, told Simple Flying that 90,000 round-trip passengers flew between London and the two destinations last year without any nonstop service. He expects the route to exceed internal assumptions and be extended year-round.

The schedule reflects what is known as of Oct. 5 and will likely change, Simple Flying notes.
