Up to 50% off Amazon with 429 Amex points

A targeted offer lets you get serious savings by redeeming as few as 429 Membership Rewards points, The Points Guy reports.

Turn American Express Membership Rewards points into big savings on Amazon thanks to this offer available to some shoppers.

American Express cardholders should check their accounts for a new targeted offer that can cut an Amazon purchase by up to 50% while using as few as 429 Membership Rewards points.

The Points Guy reports that some staffers saw discounts as high as 50%, while others received only 15% off. The minimum points requirement of 429 is lower than in July, when it was 1,429 points, and down from 714 points in November 2025.

To use the offer, link your Amex account to Amazon, select "Use points" at checkout, and cover the remaining balance with an Amex card. The terms now apply to a "wide selection of eligible products" beyond just items sold by Amazon, but gift cards no longer trigger the discount.

Some cardholders may also have stackable offers, such as earning 1,200 bonus Membership Rewards points when spending $150 at Amazon, registered through the Amex Offers page.
