Simple Flying reports that British Airways has announced a new lounge for its Terminal 5 C gates at London Heathrow Airport. The lounge is part of the airline's plan to overhaul every one of its Heathrow lounges. It is based on a concept first introduced in Miami.

According to Simple Flying, the lounge will offer airfield views and a bar measuring 55.8 feet (17 meters), described as one of the longest airport lounge bars. The design is inspired by flight and British design traditions. Materials will be sourced in Britain and feature the work of leading British craftspeople.

The lounge will have distinct areas for dining, work, and relaxation, as well as pre-flight shower facilities. Simple Flying adds that first class passengers on British Airways and American Airlines will also gain access to a new check-in experience at Terminal 3, developed in collaboration with American Airlines.

Another feature is a dedicated Concorde lounge, which will include a private concierge and improved dining. Simple Flying notes that this area will use richer textures and darker materials, designed for a calmer experience before long-haul flights.

"By showcasing the best of British design, craftsmanship and hospitality, we will deliver a more premium, seamless experience for our customers," said Sean Doyle, British Airways’ Chairman and CEO, as reported by Simple Flying.

Simple Flying also reports that British Airways is developing its first arrivals space under the new lounge concept. Refurbishment begins in early 2027, with completion by the end of that year. The arrivals space will include a coffee bar, deli, dining areas, a relaxation zone, and work booths. It will offer 59 shower rooms for passengers to freshen up after long-haul flights.

For first class passengers, the arrivals experience will be enhanced under the Concorde name. Simple Flying states it will feature private cabanas and an elegant dining area, all using British Airways' traditional colors.

The new Terminal 5 lounge is scheduled to open by the end of 2028, according to Simple Flying. The check-in experience at Terminal 3 and the arrivals space are expected to open sooner, with the arrivals space completing in 2027.
