Emirates A380 Returns to Düsseldorf on Dec. 1
The superjumbo will replace the 777-300ER on one daily flight from Dubai through January 2027, adding 163 seats per trip.

Simple Flying reports that Emirates will resume Airbus A380 service to Düsseldorf International Airport on Dec. 1, 2026. The superjumbo will fly one of two daily rotations from Dubai until Jan. 31, 2027, replacing the Boeing 777-300ER on that flight.
The A380 used will be the 517-seat, three-class variant with 14 first class suites, 76 business class seats and 427 economy seats. The 777 it replaces seats 354. The swap adds 163 seats per flight, and total daily capacity between the two aircraft rises 23 percent, or more than 10,000 seats in each direction over the two-month period.
Flight EK055 departs Dubai at 8:20 a.m. and arrives in Düsseldorf at 12:30 p.m. local time, a block time of seven hours and 10 minutes. The return flight EK056 leaves Düsseldorf at 2:30 p.m. and lands in Dubai at 11:59 p.m., with a six-hour 29-minute block. The other daily rotation (EK057/058) continues on the 777-300ER.
Emirates said the A380 had carried more than three million passengers on over 8,000 flights between Düsseldorf and Dubai on the route's tenth anniversary in July 2025.
Düsseldorf first received Emirates A380 service in July 2015. The type was absent for about 18 months during the pandemic and was restored in October 2021. In recent months the route split between one daily A380 and one daily 777, with the A380 using a two-class, 615-seat variant that lacked first class. That variant was dropped in September, replaced by two daily 777 flights. Now one of those 777s returns as the first-class-equipped A380.
According to Simple Flying, Emirates' schedule data for December shows Düsseldorf as one of 53 A380 destinations worldwide. Europe accounts for the largest share: 34 daily superjumbo departures across 21 airports. London Heathrow remains the busiest with six daily flights.
